As autonomous AI agents evolve from simple chatbots to systems that directly interact with enterprise infrastructure, traditional cybersecurity doctrine cannot be abandoned. This presentation argues that proven Zero Trust methodologies, combined with AI-assisted security operations and cyber maneuverability principles, provide the framework to secure AI systems while leveraging AI to strengthen defense. By treating AI as a computational system subject to identity verification, policy enforcement, and layered monitoring, rather than as an inherently trusted actor, organizations can rapidly contain threats, recover from compromise, and maintain operational resilience in an era of accelerating AI capability and deployment.
Series Description: Zero Trust is one of the most exciting and transformational efforts of DoW Cybersecurity. A robust Zero Trust implementation can lead to better user experience and improved cyberthreat defense. Sharing best practices and lessons learned is critical for enabling automation and orchestration in ZT implementation. The Zero Trust Transforming Cybersecurity webinar series helps program offices implement their ZT strategy by establishing a framework for ZT implementation.
