During this 90-minute session, experts from the AbilityOne Program will discuss: AbilityOne: Development and Determination of the Fair Market Price
Learn how your actions in defense acquisition can make a positive difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities. The Federal acquisition workforce supports the AbilityOne employment mission through the procurement of AbilityOne products and services in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation. Today, nearly 35,000 individuals who are blind or have significant disabilities perform work on DoD contracts with 472 community-based nonprofit agencies (NPAs) across the country. Approximately 7,000 veterans work at the AbilityOne NPAs, to include 3,000 wounded, ill or injured veterans.
AbilityOne, in partnership with the Defense Acquisition University (DAU), is offering a webinar series to educate and inform you about the AbilityOne Program. In October 2020, OFPP issued a memo asking each of the 24 CFO Act Agencies to increase their spending with AbilityOne and establish an AbilityOne Representative (ABOR) Program. Subsequently, Executive Order 13985 was issued, where people with disabilities are identified as one of the under-served communities. The AbilityOne Program has many different facets to it, and we want to ensure that Contracting Activities and Program Offices are well-versed in the acquisition of products and services from AbilityOne. The AbilityOne Program has expanded its capabilities into many lines of business, which we will be sharing with you over the course of this series. Each webinar session is focused on a specific topic and includes a mission moment, where an AbilityOne worker shares the impact that this employment opportunity has had in their lives. The AbilityOne Commission and the Central Non-Profit Agencies will provide a training on how the Fair Market Price is Developed and Determined. You’ll learn the roles and responsibilities of all parties including the Central Non-Profit Agency (CNA), the Contracting Activity, the Non-Profit Agency (NPA), and the AbilityOne Commission.
The Development and Determination of the Fair Market Price includes both new Procurement List Additions and Base Year Renewals. All parties are actively involved and have a role to play.
